Bayern Munich have released their 2022/23 home kit, which will feature a one-off badge to commemorate their unprecedented achievement of winning 10 successive Bundesliga titles. bundesliga.com presents the latest threads as they drop…
Bayern’s new threads are a return to a vibrant red last seen in 2017/18. The jersey features horizontal white pinstripes of varying thickness across the front, while the ‘Mia San Mia‘ (‘We are who we are’) club slogan appears under the collar to the rear. Red shorts and socks complete the look. As well as the ‘Serienmeister‘ (‘serial champions’) badge that will adorn the chest, a special logo celebrating those 10 straight titles will be incorporated into the new official Bundesliga sleeve badge for the 2022/23 campaign.

“Different from day one” is how BVB have coined their new strip, combining tradition and modernity as they look back to 19 December 1909 and the Wildschütz restaurant where 18 young men founded Ballspielverein Borussia. Even the windows of the Wildschütz are incorporated into the shirt. The neck of the shirt features the words “Borussia verbindet” (Borussia unites), a reminder from the club that we can overcome all odds if we stick together.

Hoffenheim have gone for a classic shade of royal blue, with the addition of ice-blue and white lines that “symbolise the hilly landscape typical of the Kraichgau,” where the Sinsheim club is based. The shorts are white with blue hems. The socks are blue, with a single white stripe at the top.

The new Gladbach top is inspired by the club’s golden years in the 1970s and 80s. The traditional white shirt with central black and green stripes is in a timeless style that combines the Foals’ identity with a modern touch.

Leipzig go into the 2022/23 season with a DFB Cup in their trophy collection and two new jerseys. They have so far released their red away shirt and a black third kit with – unsurprisingly for Die Roten Bullen – some red stripes to liven it up.

Mainz have done away with their Carnival-inspired number in favour of a dapper two-tone red home shirt with gold trim. On the final day of 2021/22, the players wore a special edition version of the new jersey emblazoned with the words ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and a heart in blue and yellow representing the colours of the national flag of Ukraine. The shirts are available in limited supply, with €10 from each sale being donated to the Better World Foundation to help Ukraine.
“Football moves us and unites people with different backgrounds. However, things are happening in the world which make football seem irrelevant, said Mainz captain Moussa Niakhate. “People tragically lose their lives every day due to pointless wars. We want to show that we stand together with those who are suffering from wars. We mustn’t only stand up on the pitch for each other, but also for peace.”

Stuttgart paid homage to the Bundesliga-winning class of 1991/92 on the final day of the 2021/22 season. It’s a special edition kit, rather than their new number for 2022/23, but remains faithful to the club’s traditional white and red colours.
“The jersey ties in with the spirit of 1992, which should inspire us and bring us luck on Saturday against Cologne,” said VfB CEO Alexander Wehrle, with Stuttgart needing a win to bypass the relegation play-offs. “We’ve always won in previous special-edition JAKO jerseys and we hope it stays that way.”
