‘We fooled them all chief!’: Jamie Carragher claims his Twitter rant at Mo Salah’s agent was all pre-planned after slamming him for posting ‘cryptic cr*p’ moments before the Egyptian signed a new three-year deal… but Liverpool fans don’t believe him
Jamie Carragher has claimed his Twitter rant at Mo Salah’s agent was all pre-planned after he told him to ‘stop the cryptic cr*p’ over the winger’s future, only for the Egyptian to sign a new three-year deal shortly after – but Liverpool fans don’t believe the former defender.
Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa took to social media on Friday to post a laughing emoji which appeared to leave Carragher incensed.
The Liverpool legend told Abbas Issa that fans could do ‘without this cryptic cr*p’ for another 12 months before telling Salah to ‘have a word’.

Carragher laughed off his rant after, claiming that he and Salah’s agent had ‘fooled’ everyone
Carragher wrote: ‘All Reds love your client, and if he is to leave next summer we will wish him well & say a big thank you. But we can do without this cryptic crap for the next 12 months! @MoSalah have a word!!’
However, moments later, it was announced that Salah had in fact committed his future to the Reds, agreeing to terms estimated to be close to £400,000 per week.
And Carragher is now claiming that his initial tweet was a ploy to fool the masses.
‘We fooled them all chief,’ Carragher said while tagging Salah and his agent in his follow-up tweet.
However, Liverpool fans don’t believe their former defender, claiming he ‘fooled’ himself.

Liverpool fans didn’t believe Carragher’s claims, insisting he ‘had no clue’ about the new deal
‘You fooled yourself. The joke is on you,’ one fan tweeted.
Another agreed, tweeting: ‘You didn’t know anything did you carra be real.’
‘You absolutely had no clue but just going with the flow,’ another added.
It’s not the first time Abbas Issa has posted a cryptic tweet in relation to Salah’s contract situation.
In March, Salah’s future was plunged into doubt when Issa posted a similar tweet shortly after Jurgen Klopp gave an update on his contract.

Salah’s agent then appeared to laugh off the suggestion that the club have done all they can
Klopp claimed that talks had been ongoing but reports later suggested that discussions had not taken place since December.
Abbas Issa then posted a tweet with seven crying-with-laughter emojis, an hour after Klopp had spoken, which caused conjecture.
When the German was asked about contracts soon after, he said: ‘I understand these questions but the club is in talks with all the agents and all the people. Until then it makes no sense.
‘The Mo question, nothing new happened, everything is fine. Mo is giving absolutely everything to the club. The club is in talks with all the agents and that is how it should be.’
Salah scored 31 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions last year and also provided 16 assists.
He also helped the Reds add two more trophies to the cabinet by picking up a Carabao Cup and FA Cup double.
